Volunteers
Who are Red Cross volunteers? We are your neighbors. We come from all walks of life to help people, regardless of race, creed, color, or religion.

We may be the woman next door who teaches first aid. Or the packing shed worker up the street who organizes blood drives. We may be the small-business owner who helps a family find shelter after their home burns to the ground. Or the spouse of someone in the military who provides casework to help other military families.

No matter who we are, our goal is the same - to make our communities better, safer places to live.

How Can I Help?
There are numerous ways you can help. One is by becoming a Red Cross service volunteer. We can match almost any skill with a need or teach you new skills you can use for a lifetime. Or, if qualified, you may want to join our ranks as a leadership volunteer and help direct our chapter's course of activities.

There is always a need for healthy blood donors. Your blood can be used in numerous ways to help countless people. Of course, your generous financial contributions work to prevent and relieve human suffering. Whichever way you decide to help, remember, when you give to the American Red Cross, you're contributing to an organization whose name and emblem are universally recognized - a guarantee of impartiality, quality, trust, and reliability. For over a hundred years, we have been here when American needs us.

Volunteer Opportunities

There ar e several differant service areas in the Apple Valley Red Cross. We have blood services, you can get involved by volunteering at a blood drive. Most frequenty you will find our volunteers at the scene of a house fire, trying to provide immediate relief for the unforunate individuals. Occassional or disaster volunteers are asked to travel to national disasters, such as wildfires, hurricanes and tornandos.

All of our services are are given by volunteers and we work to tailor each volunteer experience to the comfort level and interest of each individual volunteer. Below you will find more information on each of our service areas, a volunteer application and our volunteeer handbook.
